Dolomites Ski-In Ski-Out Hotels: Top Picks

Skiing in the Dolomites is incomparable, not only because of the mind-boggling scenery and top-tier ski infrastructure, but also because of the outstanding ski hotels that offer a level of comfort and amenities that few destinations can match.

A typical ski hotel in the Dolomites offers on-site dining, ski rooms with personal ski lockers, complimentary spas with multiple saunas, and sometimes in-house ski gear rental.

Across the Dolomites, you’ll find many properties labeled as ski-in ski-out, though most are more accurately described as ski-to-door. You can ski down to them, as they’re typically set in the valleys at the end of a piste, often beside a ski lift. True ski-in ski-out hotels , especially those you can genuinely ski out from, are far rarer than ski-to-door options, a nuance worth noting to avoid mismatched expectations.

If you’re fantasizing about skiing in and out of your hotel, check out Hotel Passo Sella Dolomiti Mountain Resort at Passo Sella along the Sellaronda Circuit and Rotwandwiesen Chalets above Sexten.

It’s also worth noting that many excellent hotels fall into neither category, yet still offer complimentary ski shuttles, often making the experience almost as convenient.

In this Dolomites ski hotel guide, I’ll highlight the best ski hotels by resort, giving you a clear picture of your options when planning a trip to Alta Badia, Val Gardena, and Kronplatz, 3 Zinnen Dolomites, and beyond. More coming soon.
